It’s been more than three weeks since the iPad 2 hit the stores. Apple has now aired it’s first TV commercial for iPad 2. This TV ad surprisingly, takes issues with the technology.
The ad starts as “Technology alone is not enough” as images of a finger appears which activates the iPad 2. The ad also says “Faster, thinner, lighter — those are all good things, but when technology gets out of the way, everything becomes more delightful, even magical.”
The voice for the ad is provided by Peter Coyote who is a famous personality from Law & Order: Los Angeles and E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial.
The ad had been uploaded on YouTube on April 2, 2011 and since then, it has already got more than 1.5 million views.
The ad had been designed by long-time Apple ad agency TBWA\Media Arts Lab. The ad depicts iPad as “The Product Is Hero”. It had consistently provided the same style of advertisements for Apple while maintaining its high image in the minds of consumer.
The ad for iPad2 was released later than the product hit the stores since the demand for the product was very very high. Apple was out of stock for iPad 2 on the weekend of it’s release, which was March 14, 2011. In such strong demands for the product, the ad released by Apple will act like a catalyst to further raise the demand of the new Apple iPad 2.
