After much waiting, Apple iPhone 4S has finally arrived into the Indian markets. This smartphone from Apple was debuted in India on Friday and many stores soon started selling iPhone 4S from Friday mid-night itself.
The price at which Apple iPhone 4S is being sold into Indian markets is Rs 44,500 (INR). This is about four times the U.S. retail price that the consumers pay there. But along with the phone, customers need to buy the mandatory data-service plans that come along with the phone. At this huge price, only affluent Indians would be willing to purchase this phone or people who really need to show off their money.
In case of India, Indian mobile operators absolutely do not subsidize the cost of the smartphone. This is a regular phenomenon in western countries which helps consumers ultimately buy the smartphone that he is willing to buy, since the one time payment of the smartphone is reduced.
Companies like Aircel and Airtel are offering this smartphone in India. They are selling 16 GB model of the phone at a price of Rs 44,500 (INR). The 32 GB variant of the phone is available at Rs 50,900 (INR) and the 64 GB variant of the phone comes with a price tag of Rs 57,500 (INR).
Indian fans are truly very sad because of the fact that smartphones would be sold at a higher price in India than rest of the world.
This new iPhone from Apple has a better camera which is light sensitive and has a faster processor. It also comes with a voice-activated software called “Siri”.
Whatever be the case, the brand loyalty of Apple is so great that on Friday, the release day of Apple iPhone 4S in India, the website of Aircel showed that for 64 GB variant of the smartphone, both white and black color, they were sold out.
