AT&T iPhone is always compared with Verizon iPhone. In a number of tests conducted, it was found out that AT&T’s network is much faster.
Ookla which created Speedtest.net broadband test compiled data from tests conducted by them. They compiled the data from the customers of both AT&T and Verizon. It was found out that AT&T iPhone transfer rates were much higher as compared to that of Verizon. It was found that the transfer rate of AT&T was almost double than that of Verizon.
The results were compiled from 43,000 AT&T iPhones and 14,000 Verizon iPhones all across the US. The average download speed of AT&T iPhone was found to be 1,769 Kbps and the average upload speed was found at 730 Kbps. Verizon’s average download speed was found to be 848Kbps and the average upload speed was found to be 506 Kbps.
According to us, Verizon’s iPhone is more suited and designed to provide a wider network range. AT&T iPhone had better transfer speeds but Verizon’s iPhone was much more reliable when it comes to connectivity and coverage. It was much more reliable with coverage.
According to Doug Suttles, co-founder of Ookla, – “I think that’s the story I expected to see, Verizon has never talked up their speed, but they always talk up coverage and reliability…. I think the story is quality versus throughput: What are you after?”
According to us, you go for Verizon’s iPhone if you need voice quality and really care about calls, but you should go for AT&T iPhone if you want a better media consumption device, such as photo downloads and uploads, since it has better speeds.
