HTC has launched HTC One S in its home country Taiwan. The launch has been made, but the specifications of the HTC One S is not the same as that on the international model.
In Taiwan, the company has launched One S using the dual – core overclocked 1.7 GHz MSM8260 Snapdragon S3. The international specification of the processor was 1.5 Ghz MSM8960 Snapdragon S4.
The reason for not launching the smartphone with the original specification is the shortage of Snapdragon S4 processor. Because of this shortage, HTC must have gone to the older generation processor. Also to match the performance of the new generation processor with the older generation, the company increased the clock speed of the older generation processor from 1.5 GHz to 1.7 GHz.
The AnTuTu score of this model of HTC One S in Taiwan is at par with the benchmarks set for international model of HTC One S. The above check was done by ePrice.
Although there was slight modification in specification, the overall launch of HTC One S went smoothly. Let us see what the company does if the availability of 1.5 Ghz MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 continues to be a problem.
