In a world in which we live today, most of the time, energy and effort is spent in creating awareness. Spamming is one of the means to create awareness. And in this world of spanning, countries like India and Korea lead the pack.
In the world, around 88% of all email traffic is due to spams. Out of these 88% spams, on an average, about 30% are those that relate to finance related and scam or fraud emails.
According to a report by Trend Micro, the country that tops the list of spam sending is India. India as a country was seen at position number 2 in the previous quarter for sending spam to the world. But this quarter, India was seen in the top position. Thanks to “work from home” that many companies are following which gives individuals the time space for spamming.
Few Points From The Report On Spamming
- The top two spots in the world of spamming was taken up by India and South Korea
- Countries like Vietnam, Indonesia, Pakistan and Taiwan were spotted at 4th, 5th, 7th and 9th positions in the same order
- United States, which was expected to be in the list of top spamming nations was surprisingly not spotted in the top 10 positions.
- The companies which were reported for reported vulnerabilities were Google, Oracle and Microsoft in that order. The number of reported vulnerabilities which were reported by Google, Oracle and Microsoft were 82, 63 and 58 respectively.
- It was APAC that contributed to around 40% of spam in the world
