The race for Android phones is getting fierce day by day. Intex Mobiles, an Indian handset maker, is all ready to join in the race. It is all set to launch its Android smartphone in India. The smartphone to be launched will be powered by Froyo or Android version 2.2. It is expected that the phone would be launched by February 2011 and be priced at around Rs 5500.
Sudhir Kumar , assistant general manager of the telecom department at Intex said – “We will launch an Android 2.2 phone in the first week of February and it will priced at around Rs 5,500.”
It will be the cheapest Android phone in India and the only competition for the phone would be Micromax A6, priced at around Rs 7000.
The phone from Intex will have features like 2.8 inch resistive full touch screen, WiFi, 3.2 mega pixel camera, GPS etc.
Sudhir said that “Intex will launch four more models of V Show – a mobile phone with built in projector, which was recently launched.” V Show models will be helpful to professional as it will support Office applications. Any professional, now a days, need minimum office applications to be built in the phone.
V Show had the features of projecting movie or image from directly from the internet or from the phone’s memory. He further added that “People who want to watch movies, videos, picture galleries and even read e books on their mobile phones will also find some interesting applications in the new model”
Let’s see whether the launch of this Android phone from Intex would be a success or not.
