The iPhone 4S is coming to India and its being brought to you by Airtel and Aircel. Both these network providers are bound to come up with some data+voice plan since they are the first ones to bring the gadget to the market. Aircel’s Facebook page says that they will launch it here on 25th November.
This late launch of iPhone 4S in India has triggered the debate that ‘is India a dumping ground for Apple?’ This certainly has been the trend since all its products have had a late opening in India. The iPhone 4S (unlocked) 16GB model is in the Indian market right now for Rs.41,850 and the 64GB model is at Rs. 58,650. These prices are surely bound to burn a whole through your wallet but this is what Apple is charging for its latest feature Siri (voice recognition). This feature may just be a little less useful for the Indian customers since there are several accents in the Indian sub continent.
The phone is just being imported by some retailers now and they are selling it at a further premium which eventually sky rockets the actual payable price. We suggest it is wiser to just source it from some foreign land rather than buy from a retailer.
