Intex and Zync, the two Indian companies who is engaged in making computer peripherals. But these two companies has recently launched tablets into the Indian market. The cost of these tablets is a fraction of the cost of iPad.
The tablet launched by Zync is the cheapest Android Ice Cream Sandwich tablet launched with a price of Rs 8,990. It is a seven inch tablet that has been launched by Zync. On the other hand Intex Technologies launched a tablet i-Tab at a price of Rs 11,900. This tablet launched by Intex has a size of 8 inches.
The Intex i-Tab comes along with a LAN adaptor and a 3G data card. The i-Tab is equipped with a capacitive touch screen and an in-built Wi-Fi and GPS. It also supports Google Maps. The tablet from Intex has a memory of 8 GB which is expandable upto 32 GB. It has a battery back of 5 to 6 hours.
The main segment that has been identified by Intex as a target for i-Tab are housewives and college going youth. Intex is planning to increase its tablet portfolio with models that has larger screen size and an in-built 3G.
If we compare the tablet launched by Zync in comparison to that which is launched by i-Tab, we find that the Zync tablet has higher screen resolution and an in-built memory of 4 GB which is expandable upto 32 GB. In comparison to i-Tab, Zync tablet is lighter and weighs only 380 gms. It also has an additional HDMI port which is not present in i-Tab.
An attached keyboard which has been especially designed for the purpose of Zync tablet has also been made available in the market at a very affordable price.
