Micromax has now become amongst the largest selling mobile brands in India. It has now decided to launch a phone with a solar panel.
The solar panel would be in-built in the mobile which would help mobile to charge itself. The panel will charge the mobile phone within 3 hours. After charging from the solar panel, the mobile could be used for a talk time of up to 1.5 hours.
According to Mr. Rahul Sharma who is the co-founder and executive director of Micromax, said, “We have been at the forefront of innovation. We were the first to launch long battery life phones, dual SIM phones and many more. Our next innovation is to get rid of the mobile phone charger by including a solar panel in our next phone. This solar charger will top up the charge in 3 hours to support 1.5 hours of talktime.”
What’s more interesting is that this phone is about to be launched within a week from now. There was no other disclosure about the phone from the company. It was however said that the phone would be a feature phone and it would not be a smartphone.
Micromax would be one of the first manufacturers of this kind of phone. Vodafone had launched VF 247 which is a very basic phone that has a solar panel at the back. This phone from Vodafone is priced at Rs 1,500. But we are sure that that such a phone from Micromax having a solar panel would be good in other features as well.
We suppose, now the time has come where all the mobile phones to be launched in the market would be having a solar panel to support it’s battery life. We are very excited to see this phone from Micromax as this would bring out a new revolution in the mobile industry as a whole.
