Micromax has focused in India mainly in the rural segment. This is proven by the fact that around 80% of its sales happens in rural India. In rural India it is gaining much popularity due to its low price and including most of the features that are desired by the rural population of India.
Well, it may do well in the rural market but to compete in the urban market, just low price is not enough. The demands of rural and urban markets are different and it has to invest heavily in new technologies in order to capture the urban market.
In order to capture the urban market, Micromax is launching Android phone this week which will be the first phone from the Micromax family. The phone is called A4 and has cool features which are listed below:

The main points in the above specifications is standby time of upto 10 days which would be very useful in the Indian market. The company has set the price of this new A60 at around Rs 8,000, which in our opinion is very cheap as compared to other phones in this category.
This phone is primarily targeted at urban youth who are also gadget and tech savvy. The main differentiating factor for Micromax with this phone as compared to so many other phones available in this segment is its low price and long battery life.
With the launch of A60, the company is planning to launch many of its future phones in the Android platform which are expected within 6 months of time from now.
Lets see how the market responds to this smart move by Micromax. From our side, we wish them good luck and a great future.
