Google is always known for its rigorous testing and path defining products. This time they have come up with a plan to test their Chrome Operating system. For making the process easy and for better co-operation from the users they have decided to give away free netbooks.
The Netbook comes pre-loaded with chrome. The Google Chrome operating system is designed to run on Netbook and will support features like cloud-computing which is very essential for the near future.
According to Google:
“We have a limited number of Chrome notebooks to distribute, and we need to ensure that they find good homes. That’s where you come in. Everything is still very much a work in progress, and it’s users, like you, that often give us our best ideas about what feels clunky or what’s missing. So if you live in the United States, are at least 18 years old, and would like to be considered for our small Pilot program, please fill this out. We’ll review the requests that come in and contact you if you’ve been selected.”
This Netbook can be yours, but to get it you need to fill in a very long form and also you need to authorize Google to collect anonymous browsing statistics as given by Google Privacy Policy. All these data will be collected by Google and in depth analysis will be done on it, which would help Google to make a better product.
Let’s see what happens to Google Chrome Operating System in future. Feel free to comment.
