Rediff PlayGully ready for expansion

Rediff is trying hard for popularity in the online Gaming zone. It launched a gaming platform called PlayGully for India in July, 2010 and is now on the verge of expansion.

Rediff, a NASDAQ listed Indian company, through this expansion is trying to engage users with its not-so-popular social networking site MyPage.  PlayGully is differentiated by having social networking features clubbed with gaming. Indian gamers have a lot to discover as Rediff has roped in international game developers like Miniclip and King.com from the U.K.,  Lumosity from the U.S., Patogo from Austria, and India games and Disney India to work with it. Seems like the hardcore Geeks’ world has just expanded.

PlayGully is being currently enjoyed by users in Tier 1 and Tier 2 Indian cities. Rediff has the view that social networking will engage users more informally with each other to discuss and enjoy the gaming experience. The users Mypage site-as a part of their plan- is continuously bombarded with updates and feeds on new and old games.

Prerna Nayak, Associate Director, Product Development of the company says, “PlayGully now offers more than 100 games and more will be added each week,”. For further justification she says , “It is an open platform wherein any developer can come and host his games. More than earning from the application, the application is directed more towards engaging our users. There is no financial relationship with the game developers but they get a good visibility through our platform”.
