Samsung begins its new year by further extending its range of Galaxy Smartphones by introducing two new handsets Galaxy M Style and Galaxy Ace Plus. Both the mobiles are Android-based. Galaxy Ace Plus can be rated amongst the mid-price range segment while Galaxy M Style will cost $500 (approximately Rs. 26,500) in the Korean market. The exact date of launch and its price in India is still not known.

Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus
The handset is an advanced version of Galaxy Ace. It will be launched in the Russian market this month and will be gradually launched in other countries including India.
Ace Plus has a 3.65 inch TFT touch-screen display with a pixel resolution of 320×480. The device is powered by a 1GHz processor and includes a 512 MB RAM (upgraded from 800MHz and 278 MB respectively of the original Ace). It runs on the operating system android 2.3 (Gingerbread) with TouchWiz user interface. It has a 3GB internal memory with 1GB of direct app storage. The memory can be expanded upto 32GB using the microSD card. Ace Plus has a 1300mAh battery. Its dimensions are 114.7mm x 62.5mm x 11.2mm and weighs 115 grams.
Galaxy Ace has a 5 MP rear camera with auto focus and LED flash. Videos can also be recorded via it at 30 frames per second. The device has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and includes a USB 2.0 port. The additional features include ThinkFree, a tool for viewing and editing Office documents (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and PDFs), Samsung’s Social Hub, Music Hub and ChatON, Samsung’s instant messaging service.
The handset is expected to replace the original Galaxy Ace in the Indian market and will compete majorly with Samsung’s Galaxy S I9000 (Rs. 19,999), Micromax Superfone A85 (Rs. 19,490), LG Optimus Black P970 (Rs. 18,990), Sony Ericsson Xperia active ST17i (Rs. 18,990) and HTC Desire (Rs. 18,599).

Galaxy M Style
The handset has a super AMOLED touch-screen 4 inch display and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system with TouchWiz user interface. The device is powered by a 1 GHz processor and has a 1600mAh battery. It has a internal memory of 4GB (the details about the RAM are still not available).
The mobile phone has a 3 MP rear camera and a front VGA camera. It includes Bluetooth 3.0 and is 9.9mm thick. The handset will come in Platinum Silver, Blue Black, Pink and Lavender colors. Further information about the device will be provided as soon as made available.
Within a week of the new year the action has begun so we can expect a great range of smartphones in the coming months with the rumours of Samasung launching Galaxy SIII with a Quad-core processor already in the markets.
