For 2011, we have seen that literally all the gadgets companies have produced or started producing some kind of tablet or the other. The year 2011, predominantly belongs to the tablets.
Recently we saw HTC came up with Flyer and now it’s time for Sony to hit the roads. Sony has come up with two tablets, though one of the “tablets” is very very close to being called “not as a tablet”, at least in our opinion.
Sony’s two tablets are called the S1 and the S2. Sony S1 is a 9.4 inch and is very similar in design to that of Notion Ink’s Adam. Sony S2 is a tablet that is foldable in the middle. It has a dual 5.5 inch display. We wonder whether dual 5.5 inch make it a 11 inch screen?
Both the tablets from Sony, S1 and S2 will run on Android Honeycomb Operating System. There would also be a skin of Sony on top of the Android. The tablets from Sony are integrated tightly with the Sony’s eReader store, Playstation network and the Qriocity music service. The pricing and other features of the tablets are not out yet.
There is no shortage of Android tablets in the market. In spite of these, companies such as sony are trying to come up with such tablets simply because they do not want to lose any of their market share. All the tablets released are at one side and on the other side we have the new iPad. All the tablets in the market these days are trying to sell specifications and no body is bothered about the user experience. In such circumstances, will the new Sony tablets bring about any changes in the market? We just have to wait and see when these tablets by Sony reach out in the market.
