There is very good news for all the lovers of using internet. As the data for spam was analysed, it was found that there was a reduction of 82.22% of spam this year, when compared to the spams last year.
The graph above shows the number of spams as recoded in a particular time frame. The time frame for the above considered graph is from 15 June, 2010 to 14 June, 2011. It can be seen from the graph that there is tremendous decline in the number of spams as we move from the year 2010 to 2011.
There is significant number of less spam sent today than it was sent a year ago. From the graph, it can be seen that there was about 225 billion spam emails sent per day in July, 2011. For the same figure, the number stands at around 40 billion for June, 2011. These figures show that there is reduction of 82.22% spam over a time frame of just one year.
There are a number of factors for the reduction of these spams over the year. Credits should be given to cops and security experts who also took significant amount of help from Internet Service Providers (ISPs). When a well-coordinated move of all of the above mentioned people was executed, it certainly helped to reduce spams and spammers. Many spam networks such as “Rustock” was also brought down which was responsible for around 40% of all the junk emails in the World Wide Web (WWW).
All the good guys of the world are busy tracking these bad guys spammers. Spammers are busy spamming about winning of loads of money, clicking fraud, credential theft and scareware. While the law enforcing agencies are getting hold of all the financial institutions where all the handling of money happens to catch hold of these criminals.
