The Hyundai i20 has undergone a makeover. The all new i20 was first of all revealed by Hyundai at the premiere of the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
The new and upgraded Hyundai i20 will have the same “fludic” design that is the trademark for all the Hyundai cars. The Hyundai i20 will have a new engine option for all of the European market. It would be having a 1.1 litre, 3 cylinder, U-II diesel engine that would be in accordance with the Blue Drive Technology of Hyundai.
In terms of Indian markets, the Blue Drive Technology is a long way to go, but the Indian market will certainly have i20 with a new-look and design. The new Hyundai i20 now has the hexagonal grille along with the company’s revised fluidic structure throughout the body. It has been designed by stylists at the Hyundai design studio situated in Europe. The new design of i20 has a contemporary front profile. The headlamps of the car have been redesigned along with the bonnet and the rim design.
The rear of the Hyundai i20 has also be redesigned. There is a redesign of the tail lamps as well as the bumpers. The overall length of the car has been increased by 55 mm. The rest of the design remains the same as that of existing Hyundai i20 model.
The new Hyundai i20 has the option of 75 PS, 1.1 litre diesel option along with the existing motor of 1.4 litre diesel. According to Allan Rushforth, who is the senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Hyundai Motor Europe, said that, “The i20 has been very popular with European buyers since it came to market in 2009, thanks to its combination of efficiency, quality, practicality and value. With an enhanced engine line-up that includes the lowest CO2 emissions for a conventional powertrain, and sharper styling influenced by fluidic sculpture, the all-new i20 will appeal to a broader range of buyers, including younger consumers. The assurance of our industry-best, comprehensive Five Year Triple Care package makes the all new i20 an even more attractive proposition.”
In the UK, the car comes with a five year triple care package that covers the car for a period of five years with unlimited kilometers for any manufacturing defects that the car might have from the side of manufacturer. It also comes along with the annual vehicle health check as well as 24 hour roadside assistance.
