Reliable sources confirm that Twitter’s Mac desktop app will be launched to the Mac App Store tomorrow morning.
The information was given by RazorianFly that reports to have received an image of the product which has confirmed the news. Native retweet support, drag and drop tweeting abilities and real-time updates are some of the features reported.
Twitter had acquired Tweetie maker Atebits in the spring of 2010. In order to avoid any trouble for the third party the app will be called Twitter for Mac instead of Tweetie 2.0. Twitter’s name on an app is never a good news for other single service app makers as it spells an uptick in adoption.
Twitter has no comments on the image. This may be because it is supposed that the picture was leaked by someone in Apple who is still being searched.
Since there is no news about the pricing, it can be deduced that it will be a free download. Twitter had made Tweetie for Mac and iPhone free too.
