Sony has new innovations coming in the field of mobile and smartphones. It has announced two new smartphones that are waterproof. It means that when your phone is dropped in water or water is dropped on your phone, it would not harm it. These two models are Sony Xperia Go and Sony Acro S.
The Sony Xperia Go and Xperia Acro S are not only water proof but also have increased protection including a scratch proof mineral glass which protects the display of the smartphones.
The new Sony Xperia Acro S has a 4.3 inch HD Reality display. The screen resolution is 720 pixel. The phone has dual camera. Once fitted at the back and the other at the front. Rear camera is a 12 megapixel camera with Exmor R sensor. It has a f/2.4 aperture. The rear camera is capable of recording 1080p Full HD video. The front camera is a 1.3 megapixel camera that has a resolution of 720p.
Sony Acro S is equipped with a 1.5 GHz dual core processor and 1 GB of RAM. Another major point in its favour is that the device would be shipped along with Android 4.0. Coming to the most unique feature, the phone covers IP57 rating requirements that is required for water resistance and dust. These ratings certify that the phone is safe and protected against dust and has capabilities to combat water for up to 30 minutes of immersions in shallow water of up to 1 m. The Sony Acro S would be available in Pink, Black and White colors.
The Sony Xperia Go would be called by the name of Xperia Advance in the US markets. The phone has a 3.5 inch Reality display. The screen resolution is 480 x 320 pixel. It has a 5 mega pixel camera that is capable of recording videos of resolution 720p.
The Sony Xperia Go has a dual core processor of 1 GHz and a 512 MB RAM. It has an internal storage of 8 GB. The Sony Xperia Go has a rating of IP67 in terms of water resistance and dust. It is really a phone that can survive dust. It offers the same type of protection as offered by Sony Xperia acro S but it provides more protection against dust as the phone is dust tight. The phone would be shipped with Android 2.3 Gingerbread which would be upgradeable to Android 4.0 – Ice Cream Sandwich later on. This phone would be available in Yello, Black and White colors.
Both these phones from Sony would be available from Q3 2012 through out the world.
