You can hear most of the people saying that they will purchase the iPhone after Verizon gets it. Now the question is what difference will a Verizon make?
First, it is expected that the sales of iPhone will surpass Droid sales for a small period and then level-off. All those owning a Droid X purchase it with the concept that it is as good as an iPhone. But when they come across an iPhone the litany of getting a Verizon iphone begins even after knowing that the apparition of iPhone to Verizon is taking time to come. But since it is expected that the litany will come true this may be fuming for all the Droid owners. But this is a fact until Honeycomb that the sales will dip after Verizon gets the iPhone.
Second, over the next few years, you must respect no change in the Phone Development Gruber believes that Verizon will not sell an LTE model but a CDMA iPhone. At the same time CDMA and GSM models will be upgraded but still until all carriers switch to LTE there is no part for Apple to a better model on any platform.
Third, 2011 is expected to be a healthy year for Verizon. Last year was not yielding for it as subscribers rushed to AT&T, dropping the profits of Verizon. This won’t repeat in 2011.
Number four, Apple is expected to make this announcement quietly. If it so then wonder what the announcement on Tuesday is about. He may perhaps appear and with sympathetic eyes stare at those who are stuck on the phone on AT&T and will be highly upset when they cannot roam internationally now. Since iPod touch is now a wifi phone that works everywhere, reduction of the carrier control in phone is being looked at.
Now, let’s switch to the bad news. In context of data transmission and reception Verizon iPhone will not be much advanced compared to the AT&T iPhone. According to ARS survey, maximum users use more than 200MB data in a month and the outliers use over 1GB. It’s about 11 million AT&T iPhone out there with 200MB per iPhone. Applelnsider stated that Verizon had sold around 4.4 million Droids. Verizon currently has 92 million subscribers. On the other hand, AT&T has 90 million subscribers. That means 11 million subscribers of AT&T are flapping down the network while 4 million Droit users are using Verizon users calmly. Now, what would happen when Verizon gets the iPhone? Will there be slower CDMA network? Verizon will experience the same problems that AT&T has been struggling with.
It is a disbelief that AT&T is hampering iPhone calls and data services out of ignorance or malice. Currently, with around 130,000 iPhone users during CES, one couldn’t make calls or get an email the complete week. Wonder what is going to happen when Verizon iPhones enter the town. The hyped up connectivity and coverage of Verizon is expected to drop heavily.
The Verizon iPhone will not solve the many problems people in cities like Manhattan and San Francisco are facing. It will just spread the pain in two carriers.
