HCL Launches Two Tablets ME U1 And MyEdu Into The Market

In a mad race to launch new products almost everyday, HCL has launched two of it’s tablets into the Indian market. These tablets by HCL are called ME U1 and MyEdu.

The price range for the two tablets were also unveiled by HCL Infosystems during the launch of the tablets. The price for HCL ME U1 has a price of Rs 7,999 (INR) attached to it while the price of HCL MyEdu Tab – K12 Version was fixed at Rs 11,499 (INR). The price for MyEdu Tab K12 includes the device cost along with the content as well as a memory card. It will also have NCERT books as well as educational apps free along with the device. The price of MyEdu Tab HE – Higher Education Version is priced at Rs 9,999 (INR) only.

HCL ME U1 Tablet – Specifications And Features

The HCL ME U1 tablet operates on Android Ice Cream Sandwich Operating System. It has a processor of 1 GHz and a 512 MB RAM. It also has a front camera. The screen size of HCL ME U1 Tablet is 7 inch with a screen resolution of 800 x 480 pixel. It has an internal memory of 4GB which can be expanded up to a limit of 32 GB. It has slots for USB, Mini USB and Micro SD card slots. The tablet also supports Wi-Fi. The tablet comes along with 17 apps preloaded on to the tablet which are local and ready to use.

Mr. Gautam Advani, EVP and Head of Mobility division of HCL Infosystem said that, “The tablet market in India is growing at a rapid pace and the device is fast enriching consumer’s lives by finding unique usages from a learning companion to a productivity enhancer.

The specifications of MyEduTab would be similar to those that for the HCL ME U1 tablet, but it would be having the service of HCL Touch along with it which is a touch service facility provided 24X7.

Both the tablets launched by HCL, HCL ME U1 and HCL MyEdu Tab would be available across the country from April, 2012. Firstly, the tablet would be available to the educational institutes of Delhi and later on across the country.
