The most important feature of the new Windows 8 is that, it is amazingly very flexible. It can go with any of the devices mentioned above. The first live demo of Windows 8 was demonstrated by Steven Sinofsky, Windows President, at the D9 conference in Southern California.

The Windows 8 is such flexible, adjustable and portable that it can work effectively on all types of computers whether they are touchscreen or they are usual computers.

Steven Sinofsky said that “What we tried to do with Windows 8 was reimagine what we want to do with a PC, We colored outside the lines.”

The new Windows 8 has apps which are similar to Windows Phone 7 but are different. You have an option to move to old Windows User Interface just by clicking on a tile from the homescreen. All the tiles on the homescreen are very handy and are highly customizable.

Steven Sinofsky also said that “Everything that runs on Windows 7, every peripheral, will run on this.”

It means that all the applications and software that are compatible with Windows 7 will also be compatible with Windows 8.

There was no official announcement of the launch date in the conference but it has been confirmed that it would be launched by early 2012.
