The first ever tablet from Sony called Tablet S, is all set to hit the stores in middle of September 2011. This is the first tablet by Sony and it looks very good on paper and in looks.
AS the race for tablets hotten up, it was Sony’s turn to introduce its tablet in the market. It was important for the company as to not to lose market share and market position in the overall market.
Sont Tablet S –Price, Features and Specifications
Tablet S from Sony is set at a price for US $499.99. It has a 9.4 inch touch screen which has a very unique wedge like shape. It runs on Google Android Honey comb Operating System. This operating system is also present in competing tablets such as Motorola Xoom and Samsung GalaxyTab 10.1.
It has 16 GB of storage space and Wi-Fi only connection to the internet. For a price of $500, even entry-level, Wi-Fi only, 16 GB version of Apple iPad is available in the US and not at the same price you have an option of Sony Tablet S. The 32 GB variant of Sony Tablet S will also come out soon for a price of US $599.99.
The listed date set as the release date is set as September 16, 2011. Both the tablets – Sony Tablet S – 16 GB and 32 GB are up for pre-order and you can book your piece of Tablet S before the release date.
The Tablet S from Sony was initially code name for Sony S1 in April, when the company first of all debuted the device along with another tablet, called, Sony S2. Sony S2 now has a new name – the Sony Tablet P.
The Sony Tablet P will arrive later in the year and there is no specific information from Sony about the price and probable date of release for the Sony Tablet P. It is also not available for pre-orders as of now.
The Tablet P will have features that are unlike any other tablets in the market today. It would be equipped with dual screens and a clamshell like ability to open and close on itself. The two touchscreens are 5.5 inch display and the Tablet P would run on both AT&T’s 4G network as well as Wi-Fi network.
Both the tablets from Sony – Tablet S and Tablet P would be equipped with front and rear camera which would help users to take video and photo shoots.
