Lava Launches Xolo X900 – Intel Powered Smartphone

Lava, which is an Indian handset maker, has partnered with Intel, which is one of the most reputed brands of the world in terms of microprocessors to launch Xolo X900.

Xolo X900 is the fastest processor phone that has been launched till date. It is powered by Intel Atom Z2460 processor. The processor is a 1.6 GHz processor with Hyper Threading technology that is very useful in multi-tasking and bringing speed to the performance of the device.

Xolo X900 runs on Android 2.3 which can be upgradable to Android 4.0 OS. The phone has a 4.03 inch high resolution LCD display. It features an 8 mega pixel camera that is capable of taking up to 10 pictures in less than a second. It is also equipped with a GPU (Graphic Processor Unit) of 400 MHz. The all new Lava Xolo X900 would be available for purchase from April 23, 2012. The price tag that Xolo X900 is having is Rs 22,000 (INR).

The partnership between Lava and Intel was announced in February 2012 during the Mobile World Congress. There would be significant brad building of Lava through this partnership. It would try to project the brand of LAVA as a more trusted and dependable brand after the partnership with Intel.

The Co-Founder and Director of Lava, Mr. Vishal Sehgal said that the company is working on delivering value smartphones to the consumers in the range of price below Rs 15,000 category. Lava has not only partnered with Intel, but it has also partnered with Croma as a preferred retail parner for sales and promotion.

Intel, after it’s dominance in the field of microprocessors in the computer field, is looking forward to mark it’s dominance in the field of smartphones and mobile phones as well. Mike Bell, Intel Architecture Group Vice President and Mobile and Communications Group General Manager, said – “We are talking to players, including Motorola and Lenovo, to bring devices on the same platform in other geographies.”
