Samsung Wave Smartphones To Be Launched This Diwali

According to a Samsung spokesman, Samsung will launch its latest Bada 2.0 powered phones, Wave 3, Wave M and Wave Y in India this diwali. Samsung has announced the three phones earlier this month.

Wave 3 smartphones are expected to be launched in India before Wave M and Wave Y.

Bada 2.0 is an advanced version that includes various new capabilities that were absent in the earlier version. The new features include multi-tasking, Near Field Communication (NFC), voice recognition and WiFi Direct that enables WiFi devices to share content without any wireless access points. With Bada 2.0 smartphone users can experience advanced services like mobile payment, file sharing without an internet connection and transport passage card recharge too.

With respect to the increased demand of the web-enabled smartphones, Bada 2.0 supports HTML5 and advanced Flash functions that offers advanced usability and web experience.

Samsung Wave 3 has a 4 inch Super Amoled display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. It carries a 5 megapixel camera at the back along with LED flash that can record 720p HD videos. In the front Wave 3 has a VGA camera for video calling.

Wave 3 runs a 1.4 GHz processor and the latest Bada 2.0 operating system, hence, is expected to be faster than the earlier Bada devices and easier to use due to the new and improved TouchWiz user interface.

Besides the above mentioned features, Samsung Wave 3 has Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), micro USB 2.0 port for easy connectivity and stereo FM radio with RDS. The smartphone will include Samsung’s new Chat On, Social Hub, Music Hub and Samsung Apps store.

The price of the phone has not been disclosed by Samsung as yet but is expected to be around Rs. 20,000 (INR). The exact amount will only be known after Samsung unleashes the further details.
