Sony Comes Up With Next-Generation Blu-Ray Disc Rewritable Drives

Sony is all set for its launch of next generation Blu – Ray disc Rewritable drives in the Indian market. The names of these devices would be coded as BD-5300S and BDX-S500U. These range of devices would be sold in Indian market through Rashi Peripherals.

sony logoThese devices will be extremely useful for people who love photography and taking high quality videos and need a lot of memory to store them. Blu-Ray discs have a larger life cycle and so they can store valuable contents safely for longer periods of time. The device can also be used for playing normal CDs and DVDs.

The Maximum Retail Price for Sony Internal BD 5300S is set at Rs. 11000/- and for external Sony BDX S500U, it is set at Rs. 18,500/-. The internal Blu-ray writer would use a SATA interface with standard 5.25 inch form factor. Sony internal Blu Ray writer BD 5300S would come in bulk packaging and external Blu Ray writer BDX S500U would be available in retail packaging. All of the devices would be made available through Rashi Peripherals.

The speed of Sony internal Blu Ray writer BD 5300S is up to 12X for single BD-R media and up to 8X for dual layer BD-R media. Putting in simple terms, it would take around 10 minutes to record a full 25 GB disc. It has different speed for doing different operations as given below:
