Skype has released a new beta version – Skype 5.5. The best thing with this beta version is that you can use this as a Facebook Chat Client.
All you need to do is to simply connect your existing Facebook account with Skype. You can simply do this by being within the Skype desktop software itself. By doing this, it will open a new “Facebook” tab with all your Facebook friends. If you want to start chatting with one of your Facebook friends then simply click on his name and choose “send an IM”.
The new Skype also supports smileys (emoticons) for Facebook chat. You don’t need to switch between tabs to know whether the person on the other side has replied you or not, the notification for the same now appears in the system try.
The new Skype 5.5 is amazing to use as a Facebook Chat option. If you really want to chat with your Facebook friends outside the browser, you should try the new Skype 5.5. The only drawback at this time is that the chat option is only available in the Windows version of Skype currently. We all do hope that, the version that supports all other platforms becomes available soon.
