Zynga, the company behind games such as FarmVille and CityVille, most games to be played on facebook, has recently acquired Flock. Flock is based in Menlo Park, California.
Flock is a five year old start-up company and has offices in British Columbia and Canada. This company was working on developing what is called as Social Web Browser. It was praised a lot for having started to develop such a thing. The company was founded by Geoffrey Arone and Bart Decrem.
Rumors has it, that, Zynga was particularly interested in the company because of its technical team. The technical team of Flock would soon be joining Zynga Farmville and CityVille team in San Francisco headquarters.
Zynga had already acquired seven companies in 2010. This acquisition was the first move by Zynga in 2011. With these moves we can say that the company is all set to hit it on the top with no signs of stopping what so ever.
