Nintendo Wii All Set To Drop Price To $150, Including Mario Kart For Free

Nintendo will be dropping the price of its wii which is a game console this month. The original price of Nintendo Wii was set at US $199.99, but this price is all set to fall to a price level of US $149.99. This new price would be effective from 15th May, 2011.

From 15th of May, the Nintendo Wii would also include a free copy of Mario Kart and also include the Wii Wheel accessory as well. This according to us is one of the great ways to recapture on the lost sales. The new deal would attract the customers significantly and will also increase the value for money of those customers.

nintendo wii price reduced features 15 may 2011 US$ 149 xbox free mario kart wii wheel accessory

As the news for drop in price was leaked, major retailers like Amazon, Best Buy and Toys R Us reduced the price of the Nintendo Wii to around US $169.99, which happened about 15 days back from now.

The Nintendo Wii was introduced in the year 2006. Initially, the product was doing very well and sold close to 35 million units in US alone. But soon competition began with players like Xbox 360 and its Kinect camera add-on. Because of this, the sales began to decline and it had to do something to recapture on the market.

Nintendo also announced that in the year 2012, it would be launching the Wii successor. Nintendo Wii does not support full HD and it can become a problem in times to come.

In addition to the Mario Kart Wii game and a Wii Wheel accessory, Wii would be available in both Black and White. It would also include a standard Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuk controller. We think that its more than enough for the $149.99 that you pay for this Nintendo.
