Simmtronics Semiconductors have come up with a blessed computer. They are offering a completely solar powered computer for Rs.28,990. This is great news for people who use computers in areas that a prone to frequent power cuts. This price tag comes with one year onsite warranty.
Although the computer is solar charged it can run without sunlight for maximum of 10 hrs and it can run basic Office applications and some light multimedia files along with some internet surfing. It’s all good enough for a day at work.
This computer has a Via C7 1.6 GHz CPU, 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive, keyboard and mouse and a 15.6-inch LED monitor. It uses Linux operating system and comes with a 74W solar panel with charge controller, SMF battery and AC inverter.
All that is fine but what will you do with it in the monsoon season and how will you keep it running then is a challenge.
