During the past few days, there has been massive growth in the number of e-commerce websites in India. With jabong being the latest entrant and letsbuy getting acquired by flipkart the war for the top place has only begun.
The top five pure play e-commerce sites according to traffic ranking in India are as follows:
- FlipKart (www.flipkart.com)
- Jabong (www.jabong.com)
- Homeshop18 (www.homeshop18.com)
- Yebhi (www.yebhi.com)
- Tradus (www.tradus.com)
First place is being acquired by flipkart.com which is followed by jabong.com. The third place in the space is taken up by homeshop18.com. The fourth and fifth places are taken by yebhi.com and tradus.com respectively.
Here is a chart that gives us some idea about the gap in traffic that is present between all the above five mentioned sites. We see that there is not much gap between the third, forth and fifth places. But there is considerable amount of gap between first and second spot and the second and third spot. So, at present the gap between Flipkart and jabong is wide enough. Also the gap between Jabong and other three players is large enough but the gap between Homeshop18, Yebhi and Tradus is not much.
The chart and rankings can change over time. It is good for Yebhi, Tradus and Homeshope18 to put in the efforts now and create some gap between themselves so that they take up the third position and create considerable amount of gap between the third and fourth positions.
